A.R.I.D.E / NM DRE Class – Alamogordo

The New Mexico Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program, in cooperation with NMDOT are offering free training opportunities.

The New Mexico DRE Program is offering a tuition free 16-hour advanced training class.  This course will educate officers in recognizing drivers that are under the influence of drugs other than alcohol and/or mixed with alcohol.  The class is known as A.R.I.D.E., Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Education and is offered to all Law Enforcement officers and Prosecutors in New Mexico.

The New Mexico DRE Program is reaching out to all Law Enforcement agencies and their administrations to stress the importance of impaired driving education.  With Cannabis becoming legal for recreational use, along with odorless variations, it makes this issue extremely important.  The purpose of this ARIDE training is for officers to able to take the appropriate actions, conduct thorough investigations and articulate the impairment properly.

Please visit www.nmdre.org/aride-registration to register for any of the available courses from now to the end of 2024.

ARIDE training is the first step for officers to be eligible to apply to the NM DRE School and become a certified DRE Officer.

Please take the time to let your officers/supervisors know about this training and where to sign up. Information on the course is also viewable in the Acadis(R) Portal.

NMDRE is looking for locations in the State that would be interested in hosting a ARIDE Training Class.
