DESCRIPTION:Link to Flyer\nCourse Description:\nThis 24-hour course is for school resource officers and deputies, campus monitors, school\nadministrators, teachers and/or anyone interested in providing a safe and secure learning\nenvironment for their students. The curriculum development is a result of training requests\nand surveys, to help identify areas needing further exploration, motivation and rejuvenation\nof attendees and their school-based policing programs, and affording an opportunity to share\ntheir challenges, successes and brainstorm workable solutions with their peers.\nCore Topics:\nAttendees will learn about topics such as; Vulnerability and Threat Assessments, Active\nShooter Response, SRO/School Administrator Relations, Developing SRO Programing\nbeyond the LE call, participate in a team on-site assessment of a school campus, plus learn\nhow to present the assessment to your school or district.\nAbout Your Instructor:\nShaun Shepherd retired from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Chattanooga,\nTennessee after 35 years of service. He most recently served as the Deputy Chief of\nCorrections. He has served as the Youth & Community Division Commander, including\nadministrating the SRO Division, Homeland Security and Community Awareness. His\nexperience includes; 6 years as SRO at Chattanooga Central High School, worked 4 years as\na Patrol Div. team supervisor, and 14 years as the division administrator for SRO. Shaun\nhas lead instruction with Corbin & Associates, Inc. in teaching Basic and Advanced classes\nas well as the Supervision and Management of School Based-Policing Programs. He has a\nBachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee at\nChattanooga.\nDate, Location, & Cost:\nThis course will be held approx. in early June 2025, 0800-1700. The class location is in\nclassroom #7 New Mexico LEA, 4491 Cerrillos, Santa Fe, NM 87507.
