DESCRIPTION:The New Mexico Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program, in cooperation with NMDOT are offering free training opportunities.\nThe New Mexico DRE Program is offering a tuition free 16-hour advanced training class.  This course will educate officers in recognizing drivers that are under the influence of drugs other than alcohol and/or mixed with alcohol.  The class is known as A.R.I.D.E., Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Education and is offered to all Law Enforcement officers and Prosecutors in New Mexico.\nThe New Mexico DRE Program is reaching out to all Law Enforcement agencies and their administrations to stress the importance of impaired driving education.  With Cannabis becoming legal for recreational use, along with odorless variations, it makes this issue extremely important.  The purpose of this ARIDE training is for officers to able to take the appropriate actions, conduct thorough investigations and articulate the impairment properly.\nThe website www.nmdre.org ( http://www.nmdre.org/ ) under ARIDE registration will show all available courses from now to the end of the year 2023.\nARIDE training is the first step for officers to be eligible to apply to the NM DRE School and become a certified DRE Officer.\nPlease take the time to let your officers/supervisors know about this training and where to sign up.\nHere is a list of the current ARIDE classes and there locations\nLos Alamos June 19-20\nRuidoso August 24-25\nLas Cruces LCPD September 7-8\nFarmington September 11-12\nGrants October 16-17\nSanta Fe October 26-27\nHobbs November 13-14\nAlbuquerque BCSO November 16-17\nSanta Fe December 7-8\nNMDRE is looking for locations in the State that would be interested in hosting a ARIDE Training Class.  If you would be interested, please reach out to Tim McCarson and let him know the way they can bring the training to you.\n
